I know i know, like me you probably don't want to hear me dragging on about school life, but yanow I just wanted to put it out there that I have to pick my gcse's in a couple of weeks!! Our teachers say to be "open minded and take on any challenge you may be faced with" but it's literally impossible to do this if I have 0% clue of what I want to pick (blurgh). I've always taken great interest in Art and especially Textiles. I literally FREAK OUT when I have an exam so doing course work is sooo me. I've set myself a challenge to focus in every single class (yes, even if I don't like it) to try and eventually discover if it's a possible gcse option lol. For me I always put the MOST effort in classes I love (like textiles) so recently I've been doing up my textiles and trying to make it as creative as possible. So I'm gonna show you parts of my textiles book which I've been working on yayyy.
Here's the front of my textiles book where the fab company magazine have helped me out to form a super colourful collage of models who I want to be (joke, it's just loaaaads of fashion styles through the whole year!)
Experimenting with different uses of illustration such as... paint, pencil, pen and ink and felt tip(with water). Every design has it's own style which is relevant to this season A/W 12. My inspiration has come from magazines such as Vogue, Company and Grazia. Making every illustration individual was mainly my task as it shows the versitility in my illustrations.
Taaa daaa - here are also 5 very different illustrations which have purely come from my brain! Looking back on all the trends which have been I have connected many clothes in my mind (that I would like) and have put them on paper lol. At the end I should hopefully be designing one of these lucky 2!
My mood board/collage for A/W 12 mish mashed on one page! This is also where I got my illustration inspiration from.
My final 2 design's from the 5 I drew earlier! The teachers brief was the create a magazine like page with colour but sophisticated layout. I included writing about what I liked/what I colour improve on.

Ahhh you should definitely take textiles, I really wish i had but since i'm in year 11 right now it's obviously way too late:(
ReplyDeleteYou seem very creative (like me) the collages you've created look so amazing! Company magazine is the best!
