Who would have thought such a plain ordinary bag could be transformed to produce a world wide hit, where every store is pleading for one! To metalics to pastels, Julie Deane has changed the nations view and the satchel view! By just a simple moment of a pretty normal day... She discovered her daughter was being bullied so decided to send her to a private school down the road, to her suprise the school fee's were £12,000 a year. Clearly she couldn't afford it so she had the idea to earn some money - satchel's being one of them. She started her company 'The Cambridge Satchel Company' with only a £600 budget. Her company are now well known in pretty every shop and even have a factory in Leicestershire! She now has celebrities and fans such as Alexa Chung and Fearne Cotton buying her bags. Wow, this really proves a small idea can grow into a life time commitment! She really is inspiring, and has definitly inspired me! I had recently seen the Google Chrome advert of where it shows how satchels started. Just as I had seen it, a competition on asos fashion finder came up wanting designs to 'Rework your classic'. What a good time to post that advert, thanks google! :) I noticed no-one had created a collage for the satchel so I decided to!
Yes, it's very stereo typical to say a satchel bag is for school, but clearly its a bag, and shows your style all the time, so can be worn anywhere! But if you want a funky versatile school bag, then here you are! The layout was inspired by the school thaaang, hence the eyeliner (pens) and jack wills make up case (pencil case). This bag is especially one of my favourites because of the strong colour, it's not totally over powering and still has that element of 'being professional'. "It's a twist on a classic" came from the idea from the Google Chrome advert, I totally agreed with the thought as the quirky designs are defenitly a twist! The element of being an old school bag is still defined but a sense of modern unique taste stills flows through the whole bag.
